Talent gets a young athlete noticed. Strength, speed and well-coached movement are what keep them improving, and keep them on the course, the court or the ice. Underdogs is Body By Beast’s youth athletic training programme: one-to-one and private small-group coaching for children and teens in Bangkok who want to perform better in their sport and build a body that can handle the training it takes to get there.
Underdogs is led by Head Strength & Conditioning Coach Brett Taylor, who has coached for 33 years and has coached Thai athletes to Olympic gold. Your child trains with the same team, in the same private studio on Sukhumvit Soi 20, with the same science-based approach. The only difference is that everything is scaled to where they are today.

Built around your child’s sport
We coach young golfers, tennis players, ice hockey players, basketball players and athletes from many other sports. Each sport asks something different of a growing body, so each programme is different:
- Golf: rotational power, hip and trunk control, and the mobility to swing hard without paying for it later.
- Tennis: first-step speed, change of direction, and shoulders and elbows that hold up to hours of hitting.
- Ice hockey: leg strength, balance and the robustness to compete in a fast, physical game.
- Basketball: jumping, landing and decelerating well, which is where so many knee and ankle injuries start.
Two pathways, one standard
The elite pathway is for young athletes who are serious about the next level. We build the strength, power and physical resilience that separate good juniors from the ones who keep progressing, and we plan the work around their season so they arrive at the competitions that matter ready, not run down.
The fundamentals pathway is for children and teens who want to get fitter, faster and stronger, and to feel confident in their body. We teach them to run, jump, land, push, pull and lift properly. These are the foundations every sport is built on, and they last a lifetime.
Long-term development, done properly
Young athletes are not small adults. Every Underdogs programme starts with an assessment of how your child moves, then progresses step by step: technique before load, quality before quantity. We plan around school, sport practice and competition, and we adjust as children grow, because a growth spurt changes what the body can tolerate. The goal is not a quick result this month. It is an athlete who is still healthy, still improving and still loving their sport years from now.

Summer group camps
Underdogs group classes run in the summer only. They are a high-energy way for children and teens to train alongside others, learn the fundamentals and find out what structured athletic training feels like. The rest of the year, coaching is one-to-one or in private small groups. Message us on LINE to hear about the next summer camp.
Start with a trial session
The best way to find out whether Underdogs is right for your child is to come in. A coach will talk with you about their sport and goals, look at how they move, and take them through a session. Book a trial on LINE @bodybybeastbkk or call 089 535 0884.
Frequently asked questions
Is strength training safe for children and teens?
Yes, when it is properly coached. Sports-medicine guidance supports supervised, age-appropriate strength training for young people, and it can help reduce sports injuries. The key is good technique, sensible progression and qualified coaching. Our strength coaches hold university degrees in Exercise and Sports Science, and every programme starts with an assessment.
Is Underdogs one-to-one or a group class?
Mostly one-to-one or private small groups, for example siblings or teammates training together. Group classes run in the summer only.
Which sports do you coach young athletes for?
We regularly coach young golfers, tennis players, ice hockey players and basketball players, and athletes from many other sports. Each programme is built around the physical demands of your child’s sport and their training and competition calendar.
My child isn’t competitive. Is Underdogs still right for them?
Absolutely. Our fundamentals pathway is for children and teens who want to get fitter, faster and stronger and feel confident in their body. Young athletes preparing for an elite level follow the elite pathway. Both are coached to the same standard.
When are the summer group camps?
Underdogs group classes run in the summer only. Dates are announced ahead of each summer, so message us on LINE @bodybybeastbkk to hear about the next camp.
