Injury Prevention and Rehabilitation Coaching in Bangkok

Sitting at a desk all day, a back that keeps “going”, a surgery you are ready to move on from, or an elbow that complains every time you swing a racket or a club. Knees, shoulders or hips that hold you back, or a pregnancy you want to stay strong through. These situations are common, and for many people the missing piece is the same: a body that is strong enough for the life they want to live. At Body By Beast, our strength coaches build careful, progressive training programmes that help you move better, get stronger around the problem area and return to the activities you enjoy, alongside the care you get from your doctor.

We are a private strength and conditioning studio on the 4th floor of Mille Malle, Sukhumvit Soi 20. Every session is coached one-to-one, so your programme is built around you, your history and how your body responds week by week.

Please note: Body By Beast is a strength and conditioning studio, not a medical clinic. We do not diagnose injuries or replace medical care. If you are pregnant or have recently given birth, have had recent surgery, or you have severe, worsening or unexplained symptoms, please see your doctor first and get clearance to exercise before you start with us.

Office syndrome: desk posture, neck and shoulder tightness

Long hours at a laptop often show up as a stiff neck, tight shoulders, an aching upper back, headaches at the end of the day or a lower back that feels tired from sitting. Stretching alone rarely fixes it for long. We look at how you sit, stand and move, then build strength and mobility through your upper back, shoulders, hips and core, so good posture becomes easier to hold rather than something you have to remember. We also give you simple movement breaks you can do at your desk between sessions.

Back pain

Many people with everyday back pain have been told to “rest it” or to avoid lifting altogether. For a lot of people, the better long-term approach is the opposite: learning to move well and gradually building strength in the hips, legs and trunk. Your coach starts with movements you can do comfortably, teaches you to bend, lift and carry with confidence, and increases the challenge step by step. If anything in your assessment suggests you should see a doctor first, we will tell you.

Back pain after surgery: return to training

After back surgery, the first stage of recovery belongs to your surgeon and your medical team. Once your doctor has cleared you to exercise, we can help with the next stage: rebuilding strength, confidence and fitness so you can get back to work, family life, sport or the gym. We follow the guidance and any restrictions from your surgeon, start conservatively, and progress only when your body is ready. With your permission, we are happy to share your programme with your doctor or another health professional who is caring for you.

Tennis elbow and golfer’s elbow

Pain on the outside of the elbow (often called tennis elbow) or the inside (golfer’s elbow) is common in racket and golf players, and also in people who type, lift or grip a lot at work. Tendons usually respond well to the right amount of gradually increasing load, and they tend to get irritated by doing too much too soon or by stopping completely. We build a progressive strength programme for the forearm, wrist, shoulder and upper back, look at the demands of your sport or job, and help you plan your playing and training so you can keep doing what you love. Our coaches already work with tennis players and golfers, so we understand what your sport asks of your arm.

Knee pain and knee strength

Knee pain is common in runners, people who play sport, and people who spend long days sitting or going up and down stairs. Much of what helps a knee sits around it: strong thighs, hips and calves that can share the load. Your coach starts with movements you can do without forcing anything, works on squatting, standing up, stairs and landing with control, and builds the load step by step. If you have had knee surgery, such as an ACL reconstruction, we start once your doctor has cleared you to exercise and follow their guidance and restrictions.

Shoulder pain and shoulder strength

Shoulder pain often builds up from desk posture, overhead work, or sports such as tennis, padel, golf, swimming and lifting. A shoulder needs strength and control in many directions, plus a strong upper back to work from. We build your programme around the movements you can do comfortably now, then gradually add strength, range and control, including reaching, pushing, pulling and overhead work when you are ready. If you have had shoulder surgery or a dislocation, we start once your doctor has cleared you to exercise.

Hip pain and hip strength

Stiff or sore hips are common in people who sit a lot, runners, golfers and anyone whose hips turn, bend and carry load all day. Strong glutes and legs, and good control through the hips, can make everyday movement easier and help support your back and knees. We build hip strength and mobility gradually, with exercises chosen around what feels comfortable for you. If you have had hip surgery, including a hip replacement, we start once your doctor has cleared you to exercise and follow their guidance and restrictions.

Pregnancy and post-natal strength coaching

Staying strong during pregnancy and rebuilding strength after birth can make everyday life, from carrying shopping to lifting your baby, feel easier. We only start once your doctor has confirmed that exercise is suitable for you. During pregnancy, your coach adapts your programme as your body changes, with a focus on strength, posture, breathing and comfortable movement, and avoids anything your doctor has advised against. After birth, we begin when your doctor has cleared you to exercise, start gently with breathing, core work and everyday movements such as lifting and carrying, and build back up at a pace that suits you. With your permission, we are happy to stay in touch with your doctor.

How we work

  • Assessment first. We start by talking through your history, past injuries, any surgery, what your doctor has told you and what you want to get back to. Then we look at how you move.
  • A progressive, strength-based programme. Your coach plans each stage, starting with what you can do comfortably and building strength, mobility and control step by step, the same science-based approach (the BBB Method) we use with every client.
  • One-to-one coaching. Every session is coached by your strength coach in our private studio, so technique, load and progress are watched closely and adjusted on the day.
  • Working alongside your medical care. We never replace your doctor. When it helps, and with your permission, we communicate with your doctor or other health professional and follow their guidance and restrictions.
  • Prevention for the long term. The aim is not just to feel better this month, but to build a stronger, more resilient body so the same problem is less likely to come back.

Our strength coaches hold university degrees in Exercise and Sports Science. The team is led by Head Strength & Conditioning Coach Brett Taylor, who has coached for 33 years and has coached Thai athletes to Olympic gold. We coach in English and Thai.

Frequently asked questions

Can strength training help with office syndrome?

For many desk workers, yes. Office syndrome usually comes from long hours in the same position. A programme that builds strength and mobility in the upper back, shoulders, hips and core, plus regular movement breaks, can help you feel and sit better. If you have numbness, pins and needles or symptoms that are getting worse, please see a doctor first.

Is it safe to lift weights with back pain?

For many people with everyday back pain, carefully coached and gradually progressed strength training is a helpful part of staying active. We start with movements you can do comfortably and increase the challenge step by step. If your pain is severe, getting worse, or comes with numbness, weakness or other worrying symptoms, see a doctor before you start.

When can I start training after back surgery?

Only when your surgeon or doctor has cleared you to exercise. Every surgery and every recovery is different, so we follow your medical team’s guidance and any restrictions, start conservatively and build up as your body is ready.

What exercises help tennis elbow and golfer’s elbow?

Tendons usually respond best to the right amount of gradually increasing load, not to complete rest or doing too much too soon. Your coach builds a progressive programme for the forearm, wrist, shoulder and upper back, and helps you plan your playing and training around it.

Can strength training help with knee, shoulder or hip pain?

For many people, yes. Building strength and control around the joint, and increasing the load gradually, is often a helpful part of staying active with knee, shoulder or hip problems. We start with what you can do comfortably and build step by step. If you have had surgery on the joint, we start once your doctor has cleared you to exercise. If your pain is severe or getting worse, or the joint is swollen, locking or giving way, see a doctor first.

Can I train during pregnancy or after giving birth?

Yes, once your doctor has confirmed that exercise is suitable for you. During pregnancy your coach adapts the programme as your body changes and avoids anything your doctor has advised against. After birth, we start when your doctor has cleared you to exercise, begin gently and build back up at your pace.

Do you offer medical treatment or diagnose injuries?

No. Body By Beast is a strength and conditioning studio, not a medical clinic. We do not diagnose or treat injuries. We provide strength-based injury prevention and return-to-training coaching that works alongside your doctor’s care, and with your permission we can share your programme with your doctor or other health professional.
